Use this guide before filling ledger pages by hand

Column Rules

  • Item Name: exact object name.
  • Item Type: tool, food, book, clothing, device, supply, document, furniture, ceremonial, other.
  • Item Quantity: count individual units or sets.
  • Item Price: purchase price or estimated replacement value.
  • Item Weight: pounds, ounces, kilograms, or grams.
  • Dimensions: length × width × height.

Use the ledger format below so objects remain comparable during storage review.

Audit Practice

  • Mark damaged items in page notes.
  • Circle quantities requiring replacement.
  • Update price when replacement cost changes.
  • Keep heavy objects grouped by safe lifting limits.
  • Place continuation items on the next ledger page.

Storage Marking

  • Write shelf, bin, room, or binder code in the location field.
  • Use the same item type wording across pages.
  • Number pages before placing them in the binder.

Binder Use

  • Print single-sided for handwritten updates.
  • Use a three-ring or four-ring binder.
  • Keep newest active pages near the front.
  • Archive completed pages behind this guide.
